Nov 20, 2017 · Based on sale price of my 330ES, the upgraded 335 cost me $500, well worth the money. So rather than do the ES upgrade, I would recommend selling the 330 and buying the GTX 335, although your differential will be sightly more than mine because I started with the ES model.
The back of the racks need to be accessed in order to add a single RS232 signal that provides position data from the 430W to the transponder. You can get this upgrade right from your authorized Garmin dealer. Upgrades from a non-ES transponder to an ES transponder will require your dealer to ship the unit back to Garmin for the upgrade.
